I'm a feminist because I believe in human rights
I'm a feminist because I believe in human rights, and I do mean all humans, women, men, gay, straight, children and the elderly I can go on all day. I believe fundamentally that we as human beings should try to treat each other compassionately but at the same time I see that changes are needed and that's not going to make everyone happy. The world is going to change any way why not try to make them good conscious decisions. I see some real issues about our culture and the ways it tries to make us in to what it thinks we should be. That hurts everyone and when we are in pain from having to hide ourselves we start trying to make everyone and thing around us as fucked up and unhappy as we have been made to be. When who we are was never really as bad as the things we end up doing because we are made to feel so unhappy with ourselves. Our culture is a prison, some people think of it as keeping things out, while others understand that it holds them back from being free to be themselves. But the thing is the doors not locked you can be yourself any time you want and you don't have to listen to what culture want you to do or be. Just think of all the things you would have time to do and think about if you stopped pretending you're something you're not and stopped caring what anyone thinks of you. You can only be as free as you're willing to allow yourself to be. You can try starting with just one person if you like. But don't stay in pain because you think that's what you deserve you don't. Because of the role culture has told you, you must play in it. If you don't do it for yourself, then do it for everyone around you because your pain will find it way out to them through you.
