Dyslexia Have you ever
Have you ever, thrown a book cause you got so frustrated that you couldn't read it.
Have you ever, stared at a comic book ect. pictures for a long time trying to guess what to words could be.
Have you ever, made someone read you a book and gotten mad at them when they didn't have time to read the next part.
Have you ever, gotten a audiobook cause the cover art looked good not knowing what the books was about cause you couldn't read the back to find out. I got into books with animals in them and got animal farm when I was about 14. Not really what I was looking for but I found out what communism, capitalism, and socialism was. And I have never forgotten it.
Have you ever, had a panic attack at school.
Have you ever, had to find video about something for school cause you know you can't do the reading in time.
Have you ever, listened to a audiobook by an author before you can read one of their books to understand the way they use words so you can read their books.
Have you ever, given up over and over again, always telling your self that "this will be the last time I try cause I just can't do it" then trying again any way.
Have you ever, tried things that you knew you would mostly fail at, because you know what failure is, and that it were you start. Being willing to take longer to learn something that other people give up on cause you know learning takes time. Because you have had to learn patience and perseverance.
Have you ever, had to take a really long time to read something having to go over and over the same part but you remembered and understood better then people that don't have a problem reading.
Have you ever, used google as a spellcheck using speech to text or common phrases that have the word in them, cause real spellcheck doesn't know what the word is, ever if you just forgot the E at the end of the word and you can end up using the same wrong word over and over again.
Have you ever, been so lost in math that you feel like everyone speaking a foreign language that only you don't know.
Have you ever, gotten mad cause people keep saying that you see or read backwards. Telling them that letters and numbers are code that is more difficult for you to understand. That your brain just doesn't function in the same way that theirs does, and it can also affect things like your spatial awareness so you get lost more then other people do, or your concept of time.
Have you ever, cried because you couldn't do something and/or you had to ask for help.
Have you ever, taken hours writing something and then you rereading it over and over again.
Have you ever, used the spelling of a word that sounds the same because you think people should be able to guess what you are trying to say cause that what you have to do all the time.
Have you ever, had someone ask you to do something but they weren't specific enough so you did it in a way they didn't want you to and sometimes in away they didn't even know it could be done.
There are a lot of types of dyslexia you can have more then one kind. I don't have them all. The information on dyslexia is always changing as they learn more about it.
