The good old days are a myth

The good days when people actively suppressed information from the public. Any time in history when a lot of people were literate you'll find that there has never been a "good old days". Suppression, oppression, death, and exploitation are the foundations of the good old days.

United States of America in the 1950's, after two world wars the population was a lot smaller, the exploitation of minorities, well to do housewife were on drugs, McCarthyism.

Victorian England, wealth was from the suffering and exploitation of it's own poor, and all of it's colonies, as well as the slave trade ect.

The European Renaissance, the black death made the population a lot smaller, political upheaval, religious wars. People were taught to read and write to keep meticulous records about people that they think might be plotting to overthrow the government.

Where did all these L.G.B.T.Q+ people come from? They have always been their and could be found all over the world. If the laws and religious teachings that not only don't protect you but actively encouraged people to hurt you. By law the government could, torture, imprison, or kill you for it. As well as the destructive burden that society places on you. Then maybe you hide too. The act of celebrating overcoming all of that is called Pride. And Pride month serves as a reminder that they will never be made to feel ashamed of themselves or silenced again.

Before birth control and safe legal abortions poor people with no government assistance, sold, abandoned, gave them away, got their kids taken away, or watch their children starve to death/ starve to death themselves leaving their children orphans. The poor were seen as vermin to be exploited and/or to be gotten rid of. Their lives didn't matter there would always be more when they died. If a lot died at a time it was called god's will and it was their own fault that they died.

Men were encourage to have sex cause they couldn't get pregnant and women were told not to other then to have children. So women were classify as whore ect. if they liked have sex they would often become a social outcast and end up becoming prostitutes. Women and children were sold and tricked into being forced to become prostitutes. Prostitutes were seen as being even lower then the poor and the customers were seen as fine upstanding citizens that have done nothing wrong.

In a world were men should have sex and women shouldn't that equals men should only have sex with men in less they want children.

If you scratch the surface of any well-documented time you'll find that willful ignorance is what causes the old days myth. Things have always been complicated and painful.

A lack of Education makes it easier to exploit, manipulated, and deceived the ignorant. So stop glorify ignorance.

Invisible people have no rights. You have to show people you are here. So don't sit down and be quiet! Make history remember that people like you are here. Leave a record. Do things that help the world and it's people. What you do matters. We make up the people in history and we make history as we live it. And try not to kill anyone.
