Intrusive thoughts

Intrusive thoughts are odd things


That often show you or have verbal thoughts that run through your mind of what you fear most


People often experience these for the first when they fall in love for the first time or when they've have their first child


But some of us have experienced them our whole lives


Knowing the difference between an intrusive thought that an actual thought is a vital skill


Knowing who you are helps you differentiate between intrusive thoughts and normal thoughts


Knowing that you do not wish those thoughts to happen having no desire to make something happen behind them and also experiencing fear when they happen can I help you identify them


Some intrusive thoughts are useful like they might prevent you from having accidents


But the negative attributes of an intrusive thoughts can be dehabilitating


The psychological condition obsessive compulsive disorder usually comes with some aspects of intrusive thoughts


But a lot of people do experience them at some point in their lives


They could be what if something bad happened to a loved one or they could be what if I did something bad to a loved one


Thinking that you might do something horrible to someone that you love is a far more disturbing intrusive thought


But thoughts are not desire nor are the actions.


If you have had bad things happen to you then you might have intrusive thoughts pertaining to those things like becoming an abusive person Etc.


Often times all you can do is allow the intrusive thoughts to pass not allowing your actions to reinforce those negative thoughts


Thinking about whether or not those thoughts align with who you actually are and if they do not make a effort not to dwell on them or become fixated


Because just having a thought does not define who you are or change your moral compass


You're not a bad person just for having intrusive thoughts


It is not thoughts that matter it is the will to put those thoughts into action


And if you're intrusive thoughts are impacting your life negatively do seek help


Do not allow them to fester in your mind destroying and eroding your own ideas of Who You Are and your own personal identity
