Men's fictional portrayal of women
Most of the older ones don't write us like we are real people at all but most male writers are better now but often when we are made to seem sexy we seem to lose a lot of our humanity.
Terry Pratchett got better the more he wrote.
You can really see them getting better every time.
I have heard men complain about Austin's portrayal of Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice but I think having read the book even though he is quite a silent character for the most part. I really could see things from his point of view and understand his feelings so I don't think he's as poorly written as most female characters have been historically.
